Replacing Your Flat Roof? Think Polyroof
Of all the components to a building or a home, the most important, quite clearly, is the roof. Sounds obvious to say but that obviousness can often lead to the roof being the least thought about or considered home improvement.
Indeed, it only tends to be when things go wrong that we realise quite how vital a solid and reliable roof is! That’s why it is important to be proactive when it comes to roof replacement and understanding what your options are. In this new blog we take a closer look at Polyroof – a liquid-based roofing system – explaining what it is, how it works and why it is a great option when it comes to replacing your flat roof.
What is Polyroof?
Polyroof are a UK based manufacturer and supplier to Bon Accord Glass of liquid roofing systems that we specialise in applying to flat roofs primarily as a replacement. Liquid roofing systems in general are polymer-based coatings that can be applied to existing roof designs and directly over materials including felt, asphalt and PVC with the purpose of prolonging the life of the roof by creating a waterproofing system that moulds perfectly to the existing frame including welds, joints and fixings.
How does it work?
The secret to Polyroof and other liquid-based roofing systems is in the liquid itself which in Polyroof’s case is a hybrid polymer solution designed to provide the optimum combination of flexibility and robustness. This solution is then applied to the existing (or entirely new) surface including fixings which, when cured, forms a waterproof membrane over the covered surface area.
Why Polyroof?
Polyroof, as a liquid-based system, carries with it many advantages when considering a flat roof replacement. Chief among these is cost with estimates putting the cost of replacing a flat roof at 70% less when using a liquid-based system over a more traditional alternative. In addition to this, the longevity and durability of a Polyroof type replacement can be as much as 25-years and at Bon Accord Glass we offer a 25-year transferable guarantee on all flat roofs replaced.
