UPVC And Aluminium – All You Need To Know About The Two Materials

We are heavily reliant on UPVC and aluminium when manufacturing our home improvement products for customers – they’re used for almost everything we supply. 

Why do we use them so much? To us, they’re easily two of the finest building materials available, as they have proved over many, many years. 

Customers regularly ask which of the two we would recommend they opt for, and the honest answer is that we couldn’t separate them as they both offer so much. 

We’d much rather just present you with facts and let you make up your own mind: 

UPVC 

The weather we get in this country is unlike anywhere else, and your windows and doors need to be able to deal with it. 

UPVC is weatherproof, so no amount of heavy rainfall will affect its appearance or performance. Any time a UPVC frame gets marked, you can just remove it using a cloth, and don’t have to do any repainting, sanding or revarnishing. 

It isn’t expensive either. UPVC is one of the most affordable materials, but don’t mistake its cheapness for poor quality. We know that UPVC products can last for a decade, or even longer. 

Aluminium 

An aluminium window, door or conservatory profile is much sleeker than a UPVC equivalent, despite aluminium being one of the earth’s most robust materials. It can be shaped so easily, yet has a near unbeatable hardness. 

The finishes on aluminium frames are very noteworthy and the secret behind them is the multi-stage powder-coating process employed to integrate the colours. 

You can have aluminium frames supplied in an amazing number of colours, and if we don’t stock the colour you want, we can always colour-match any colour on the RAL chart.
