Do You Find Condensation In Your Home All Year Around?
Condensation, it’s annoying and unattractive we know, but do you know what it actually is?
Essentially it is where gas or vapour changes into a liquid. in most cases, the gas or vapour converts to water which collects as droplets on a cold surface, such as a window, when humid air makes contact with it.
Although it might not be the nicest thing to look at, condensation isn’t something to be worried about. Between the weeks changing from heatwave to days of winter-like rainfall, it’s no shock to us that we are seeing quite a lot of windows and doors with it.
Condensation doesn’t mean that your windows and doors are faulty in any way, it’s all to do with mother nature’s choice of weather conditions that day and the difference in temperatures of the outdoor air and glass pain.
The more efficient windows, which we now provide, can sometimes cause external condensation, which is essentially the difference between the outdoor temperatures and external glass pain. Don’t worry if your neighbours’ windows aren’t doing this, they may be the ones that need to worry as their windows are likely to not be as thermally efficient as yours are, and therefore could result in a spike in their energy bills.
Certain factors, such as environmental and geographical ones we have no control over, can cause the condensation to appear which makes it hard to predict when it will appear, but again, this is nothing to worry about.
Condensation evaporates quickly in all weather conditions, so we are confident if you do experience condensation it won’t last long.
