Mrs Geall's
Aluminium Windows & Solid Roof Extension
A subtle modernisation of a stunning 1930’s property.
Installing slimline aluminium windows as a substitute for Mrs Geall’s poorly insulating and outdated windows has greatly enhanced the feel of her house and made it less noisy indoors.
Mrs Geall’s home has stood for almost 100 years and its appearance has barely changed over that time, perhaps because it was built by an architect. But an ongoing issue was its old lead windows which leaked as they were extremely hard to clean. A second drawback with them was that they were mullioned, perceived as a potential problem by Mrs Geall.
When looking for a suitable replacement window, it was our aluminium range that caught Mrs Geall’s attention as she spotted that the design prioritised glass over frame. Because of the super-slim window profile, she could enjoy a fantastic view from the indoors. Aluminium windows also wouldn’t need frequent upkeep and could stop draughts, putting an end to her having to pay for maintenance each year.
She wanted something other than new windows too. A keen painter of watercolours, Mrs Geall wished to have a studio at home that could accommodate her hobby and it led to the construction of a tiled roof extension. When practicing this hobby, she gets a wonderful perspective of her garden.
There is a more serene atmosphere in the house since the new windows were put in as they have great noise-reducing qualities. Mrs Geall also no longer needs to be fearful that her windows might fall out when she opens and closes them. Her energy costs have been reduced too, and she really appreciated us coming out to her home to give the windows a health check a year after they were fitted.
